Fall Protection
Safety Program Overview
Every year in Canada there are about 26,000 lost-time injuries resulting from falls from heights, and each year over one hundred workers lose their ives in falls. According to a recent study by the University of Guelph over 90% of falls from any height happen to workers who are not protected. It was also noted in that same study that 33% of all fatalities attributed to falling are from heights of less than 6M. WSIB claims that 1 in every 5 lost time injuries are the result of a fall and that most falls are preventable.
